The RCU creates all the needed schemas required by the SOA Suite.
You can find RCU 11.1.1.6.0 installation here:
http://download.oracle.com/otn/nt/middleware/11g/111160/ofm_rcu_win_11.1.1.6.0_disk1_1of1.zip
More information about the RCU and schmeas creation:
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e14259/rcu.htm#BABIDIBC
* If you are running RCU over ‘Oracle Database XE’ you must set the RCU_JDBC_TRIM_BLOCKS environment variable to TRUE, before the installation
To do so: Right click on ‘My Computer’->Advanced Tab->Click on ‘Environment Variables’->Under ‘System Variables’ click ‘New’->
Name: RCU_JDBC_TRIM_BLOCKS, Value: TRUE
Please follow the next steps in order to install the RCU:
1. Run RCU setup:
Run $RCU_HOME/bin/rcu.bat
2. Choose ‘Create’ to create new schema and press ‘Next’:
3. Make sure the DB is up and running (on windows run $DB_HOME\app\oracle\product\10.2.0\server\BIN\StartDB.bat).
Enter the Database details and press ‘Next’:
When running the express XE Oracle DB you will receive the following Warning (Press ‘Ignore’):
4. Verify all checks completed successfully and press ‘OK’:
5. Choose the required components.
Put the chosen Prefix name according to your environment (DEV/PROD)
For Oracle SOA Suite 11g installation , choose the ‘SOA and BPM Infrastructure’. Verify that when choosing the SOA checkbox, the ‘Metadata Services’ checkbox under ‘AS Common Schemas’ is being choosen as well:
If you are running RCU with other user then sys/system, make sure you granted the following privileges to that user before creating the schemas:
GRANT ALL ON dbms_aqadm TO new_user WITH GRANT OPTION;
GRANT ALL ON dbms_aq TO new_user WITH GRANT OPTION;
GRANT aq_user_role TO new_user;
GRANT EXECUTE ON dbms_aqin to new_user WITH GRANT OPTION;
GRANT EXECUTE ON dbms_aqjms to new_user WITH GRANT OPTION;
6. Verify all checks completed successfully and press ‘OK’:
7. Enter the password for the new created schems. You can choose to use the same password for all schemas or different password for each schema
(Remember the schema names and password). Press ‘Next’:
8. Leave the default parameters OR change it according to your requirement. Press ‘Next’:
9. Click OK:
10. Verify all checks completed successfully and press ‘OK’:
11. Press ‘Create’:
12. Verify that all components were complete successfully:
That’s it.
after step 5 an error occurred i.e RCU-6083:Failed- check prerequisites requirements for selected component:WEBCENTER please refer to RCU log at rcuHome\rcu\log\logdir.2012-09-14_02-43\rcu.log for details — RCU-6107:DB Init Param Prerequisite failure for: PROCESSES Current Value is 100. It should be greater than or equal to 300.
Muhammd,
This error is because the “processes” parameter in the database is set 100 in your case.
For WebCenter component you have to change this parameter to 300.
You can change the value by running the following command:
SQL>alter system set processes=300 scope=spfile;
Restart the DB after that.
You can then run the following command to see the current number of processes:
SQL> show parameter processes;

I’ve run this command but SQL returns me that:
SP2-0640 : Not connected
Muhammad,
Looks like you have a DB connection problem.
Please verify you’ve established your DB connection.
If you are using SQL*Plus check this link:

then it prompts me: Specified initialization parameter cant be modified
So what should I do now..
it only connects with hr/hr …when I want to connect with SYSDBA eith pass hr or SYSDBA with pass sysdba ..it wont work ..only HR with password hr is working and when I execute the command ..
SQL> alter system set processes=300 scope=both;
Error: Specified initialization parameter cant be modified
or
SQL> alter system setprocesses=300 scope=spfile;
ERROR: insufficient privileges is prompted
Muhamad,
Clearly you have problem with permissions.
Did you install the DB you are trying to connect? If so, don’t you know the password for SYSDBA/SYSTEM users?
If you didn’t install the DB, can you ask for a DBA to increase the processes?
Arik

I’ve Created DEV , UCM and PORTAL schema from RCU. and Then try to install UCM ,when schema passwrd screen appear for LOGIN and Create weblogic domain , It tell me INCORRECT PASSWORD, SO , I’ve DROP these 3 schema using RCU , during DROP schema, different errors appeared , and I’ve DELETED the middleware\rcu_Home folder and Unzip the rcu.rar fresh file to the same directory
NOW
when I RUN rcu.bat and selectec CREATE SCHEMA then RCU WOUNDNT ALLOW ME TO CREATE SCHEMAS FOR PORTAL , DEV , UCM ..and also they appear in combo box to select
BUT I’ve ALREDY DROP THAT
I think it only droped not DELETED
tell me the sqlplus commands fro DELETE schema. and also tell if it is DANGEROUS to delete some schema(example DEV schema) as I’m developing portal via WEBCENTER -Jdeveloper(integrated weblogic) , Xe , RCU, UCM )
Invalid service name after step 2. My database is up and running. I tried orcl then orcl.us.oracle.com. None of them work. Thank you.
Forgot to mention. working on windows 8.
Hi jason,
Did you check you tnsnames.ora file? What’s written there?

Thanks for the response. I figured what the problem was. For some reason my default port was not 1521. It had been set to 1523 during installation. Found it by checking the database url(http://localhost:1158/em) ..
HI
While trying to install the RCU, I am getting the invalid service name as well.
The data that I am trying to input is
hostname = localhost
Port = 1522 (not sure if this is the correct portname. I’ve tried 1521 as well)
Service_name = XE
For some reason I am not able to check my database url (http://localhost:1158/em). It doesn’t show me anything. I mean the uRl returns error page.
I am in Win 8 myself.
Please help. I am new to all this and hence clueless.
Hi,
Who did the db installation?
